Workshop Details
Your child will be using the gel plate to create printed patterned page backgrounds using acrylic paints and colours of their own choice. They will learn how to fold, cut and assemble their chosen favourite print into a zine/booklet before adding further design details using rubber stamping and/or collage. They will also have the option whether to include ribbon topped pocket tags. This fun gel print workshop has been declared by many young people as 'their favourite session so far'; they quite often decide to make this for someone else and become totally absorbed in adding the finer details to truly personalize their piece of work! They are often surprised at the announcement of only 15-20 mins left of the session! The 'zine' is like a little booklet...it can act as a great little starter for a mini mixed media journal or an extra special gift card which can be added to with pockets, tags, flaps and much more besides. This young person session is suitable for 7-12 year olds. Help is at hand if your child struggles with scissors etc...please let me know in advance. All materials will be included and techniques fully demonstrated. All abilities are very welcome and no experience is necessary... Please wear old clothes as printing and gluing can be messy. Aprons are provided; or they can bring their own if you'd prefer.
