Embossing & Gilding mixed media session
3 hours of adding bling and texture
Workshop Details
A little pop of bling or some raised texturized areas can add great interest to your art piece. In this mixed media workshop you will experience gilding* and embossing* techniques and how they can be used to create additional textures and/or finishing touches. You will be rubber stamping, over-stamping and adding acrylic/gesso painted areas for embossing and using small, large and distressed areas for gilding. You will then create a finished mixed media piece using the skills you have learnt. * Gilding...adding extremely thin sheets of gold silver or copper metallic leaf sheets. * Embossing...creating a raised images by heat setting powders All materials are included and techniques are fully demonstrated. It'll be helpful to come with an idea/inspirational image/photo of what topic you'd like to make as your focal point; eg. animal/flower/figure/quote/shape. All abilities are very welcome including absolute beginners as no experience is necessary...Please wear old clothes as gilding, painting and gluing can be messy. Aprons are provided; or you can bring your own if you'd prefer. This workshop is a 3 hour adults session for ages from 17 years up...
