3.5 hours of holey creativity!
Workshop Details
Apertures are a fun way to bring in another interesting feature into your journal work. They are holes in your pages that have a peep through to your next page whilst incorporating and using the showing element of the design on your page twice in a different way. Naturally just one hole will give you scope to create 3 interconnecting possibilities over 4 pages as the hole can be used on it's front and back over the left and right side. The more aperture layers you create the more fun you can have! Your first focus will be on positioning the aperture/hole and what will be showing through it. You then will be looking at how that one image can be used differently to create at least two different outcomes. You may choose to keep a colour theme for both designs or change it depending on what is showing through the aperture. You'll be learning how you can use the reverse of photocopies. You will also be using photo images and collage with stencilling and stamping to add finer details and points of interest using acrylics to create four pages. You will need to bring your journal/sketchbook with you but all other materials are included. If you are a regular 'journaller' and there is a particular theme or focus you'd like to add to your journal please bring some images to suit. If you are new to this and have an empty/brand new journal/sketchbook, what better way to start your journalling journey than to add some creative apertures! All abilities are very welcome; including absolute beginners as no experience is necessary and techniques are fully demonstrated. Please wear old clothes as printing, painting and gluing can be messy. Aprons are provided; or you can bring your own if you'd prefer. This workshop is a 3.5 hour adults session from 17 years onwards.
