Gel Plate Printing

2 hours (see calendar for dates)

Workshop Details

Gel plate printing is just so much fun; whether you are new to this or have some experience, it is a process that will bring endless surprises each time you pull an image! In this 2 hour session you will experience many different ways to apply textures to the surface and build layers into your prints. You will be using inks, and acrylic paints with stencils, stamps and found materials to print onto a variety of papers. You will create a range of printed sheets to take away and use in your own art, in journals, scrapbooks or to create something else with. They are a great starting point for you to use in your art as backgrounds, collage fodder papers to cut things from, or to be made into envelopes and or gift boxes. All materials will be included and techniques fully demonstrated. All abilities are very welcome and no experience is necessary... Please wear old clothes as printing can be messy. Aprons are provided; or you can bring your own if you'd prefer. The 'More Gel Plate Printing' workshop will be a natural progression from this session building on the knowledge you will have gained doing this session should you wish to take your gel printing to the next level. This workshop is an adults session for ages from 17 years up... If the workshop does not fall on a day or a time that is convenient to you, please do get in touch and I will try to schedule something helpful in in the following months. If you wish to book all six spaces at once please email me for a 15% discount code before booking. No discount can be applied after a booking has been made. I look forward to seeing you in the workshop. Floss x x FAQ's... What is the gel plate made from? Mineral oil; it is a hypoallergenic polymer material. How do you use a gel plate? In a nutshell...you apply paint to the gel plate surface using a brayer/roller, cover it in paper, smooth the surface and peel to reveal your print.
